So I watched Adam Lambert's performance on the AMAs earlier. And the only thing I can find 'wrong' and 'offensive' about it is America's reaction. It is times like this I am so proud not to be a part of such a homophobic country. Don't get me wrong, I love America and some of my best friends are American, but I can't stand how homophobic some people are. They focus on a person's sexuality more than their music. Granted, the version I watched had pretty shit audio, but I'm tired of the way the media attacks people who are proud to show their sexuality. They shouldn't even say anything about it. A person's sexuality has absolutely no impact on their talents. I'm getting really tired of all the homophobic behaviour in this world, I can only hope that one day we will be accepted for what we are.
I think Adam Lambert is an inspiration. Well, he is certainly my inspiration. I share his ability to stand up for what I believe in and to give everyone who thinks it's wrong the finger. I'm proud that Adam was able to stand up there and kiss a man. Because he shouldn't have to suppress his sexuality.
And I think the people who hated the performance are totally missing the point of the song- it's a song about SEX. Listen to the fucking lyrics. You see all these rappers and scantily clad women gyrating around in music videos on MTV all the time. Why is this any different? Because it's a man kissing a man? Grow up and get your head out of your ass. Personally, I think they are complaining about the 'inappropriate' content of his performance because they don't want to admit that they are homophobes through and through.
I'm done now.
To never stop being yourself and to stand up for what you believe in, even when people tell you it's wrong. And don't stop believing.
Love and Peace
